Anyone who has stood by the sea and watched the waves move will understand why marine photography is so fascinating. It’s not just about capturing images, it’s about capturing the ever-changing moods of the sea and the maritime landscape.
I love working with medium format film in combination with a large format camera because of the technical challenge and the discipline it requires. These qualities contribute to the composition of the final image by slowing down the shooting process.
Many of the photographs on my website were taken on analogue 6×12 panoramic film.
The decision to shoot most of my seascapes in black and white opens up new creative possibilities and allows me to create a new, exciting world from the pure image.
